Probably one of my all time favorite places to film has to be Yellowstone National Park. I guess you could say I cut my filming teeth in Yellowstone.
The park has such a diversity of landscapes and wildlife. In all the years I’ve filmed there I’ve always discovered something new and exciting.
This short film of Yellowstone National Park was filmed in about a week and a half at the end of May, beginning of June, just right before the heavy tourism season begins.

And as always, shoot the ordinary and make it extraordinary!
Your videos are awesome Kevin. Thanks for sharing. Definitely shows your talent, and love of what you do, you capture such an essence of nature.
I’m glad you liked them! I feel I still have a long, long way to go before I’m capturing what I feel in my heart but I work on it every day.
Every time I go out with the camera I learn something new about nature. It’s humbling experience for sure!
Hi Kevin,
It has been awhile since I’ve touched base with you but I have just now seen your video of Yellowstone and it was very moving. Of course the filming was outstanding but the music you chose to go with it added the extra punch to make it more of an emotional experience. It gives those of us who are just starting to learn what it takes to produce something worthy of being called photography.

Gary,
Good to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
A lot of time whenever I’m putting something together, I pick the music first to set the tone.
It just seems weird to me to edit without music and then try to find something to match or give it to a composer and have them create a score for the edit.
Much easier for me to find the music I like and then edit away. 🙂
I have some really great footage of the tallgrass prairie. Just waiting for a few more pieces to fall into place and then I’ll put it all together.
I already licensed some music from Helen Jane Long for it. Amazing music. She worked on the Lord of the Rings so some great music.
What can I help you with or what do you want to know more about? Always happy to help if I can!
